Early Childhood Education in the Southwest region of the state of Paraná: an analysis of public educational policies

This article presents a sample of data from a master's thesis that focuses on investigating the organization of public early childhood education services for children aged 0 to 5 in municipalities in the Southwest region of the State of Paraná. The work presented here analyzes the administrative organization of the 42 municipal education networks in the researched region, focusing on the early childhood education. This way, this article contextualizes the offer of full and partial vacancies in municipal schools, the number of registrations, per capita of enrollment by number of inhabitants of the city ending with the presentation and analysis of the number of enrollments in urban and rural areas, by administrative dependency: municipal, state and federal, public and private. As this is a research that aimed to map a large amount of information, a quali-quantitative approach of an exploratory nature is used, thus understanding the objectives in a more comprehensive way. The data was generated from an online questionnaire sent to all municipalities in the researched region and data from the school census available by MEC through the official INEP website, “2021 microdata” and Synopsis - basic education statistics 2022. As a result, we found a diversity of realities, with some municipalities complying with current laws and regulations, but not all of them.
