“Bookstans” LGBTQIAP+: a phenomenon of cyberculture

Abstract

Social networks are increasingly present in our daily lives, and, through them, readers began to express their opinions and recommend books. These readers became known as bookstans. Their presence in the literary world has become extremely important, as these influencers focus on literature with LGBTQIAP+ protagonism, showing that these stories are powerful and help other readers to understand themselves, feel represented and, above all, to accept themselves. Therefore, we aim to understand how LGBTQIAP+ literature is developing through these bookstans. Through cyberculture studies, it was possible to base the research and, thus, we created a device called Literavitu on Instagram and Tik Tok to understand this phenomenon. By getting in touch with this world, we realize how important the literary productions conveyed in it are and make a difference, not only in the reader's life, but also in those who produce and write.
