Research in education philosophy, traditions and trends: investigation of production in the postgraduate program in education/uel from 2006 to the present

We analyzed the research in philosophy of education carried out in the postgraduate program in education at the State University of Londrina, since the new structure was implemented until the present. We start from the question “what would it mean to do research in philosophy of education”, what contributions could be expected to research in the human sciences, particularly in the pedagogical field, its problems, relevance, limits and possibilities. We started by collecting the dissertations produced within the scope of Nucleus 01, Line 01, with the abstracts. We removed the justifications and objectives, observing the clear framing of the study in the area. We examine the texts in more detail, extracting themes, problems, methodologies and references, seeking to understand the trends presented in these researches. The theoretical support used served to bring our data closer to the analyzes offered by the authors. The difficulties highlighted, especially with regard to methodology, among others, may arise with regard to the understanding of the philosophy of education itself and its place in the context of knowledge with which it closely coexists in pedagogy and, also, with regard to the relations with its field of origin, philosophy itself. The location of the philosophy of education in the zone of convergence of two fields results in difficulties in carrying out a research project, if the proponent does not have a clear understanding of the fields in operation. Theorize rigorously and seek solutions to educational problems through philosophical-scientific investigation: this is the activity developed by those specialized in the field of philosophy of education.
