Abstract

This article presents a bibliographical review on the perception of young people in relation to science and scientists, since we realize that there is a stereotypical way of thinking about the scientist and, consequently, about science. Initially, it can be said that the desire to create this text came from contact with the project “Am I a scientist? The perception of students at PIBIC-EM campus Aracaju/SE”, which has had its first phase completed and may have subsequent phases. In this sense, among our objectives, one of the central aspects of this analysis is the influence of cartoons on the perception of these young people. Another aspect of this literature review is the importance of scientific initiation projects, especially those promoted by the Federal Government, such as the Institutional Scientific Initiation Scholarship Program for Secondary Education (PIBIC-EM). Through this study, we highlight as results the identification of the importance of understanding young people's perception of these themes in relation to scientific education, as well as the relevance of scientific initiation projects in high school. It is also noted that to carry out this bibliographical review, academic databases were consulted, as well as published studies directly or indirectly related to the perception of young people about science and scientists. After selecting the works, the main results that added to the this study.
