Presentación del Dossier: Continuidades Olvidadas y Rupturas Construidas entre Dictadura y Democracia

Resumen

Independientemente de la forma en que se procesen, los cambios de régimen político se analizan, por regla general, desde la perspectiva de la ruptura, sin prestar suficiente atención a los elementos de continuidad presentes en los más variados niveles. En este texto introductorio se abordan algunas de las cuestiones teóricas que subyacen a los estudios presentados en el dossier temático. Se destacan las cuestiones relacionadas con la división del tiempo histórico y los impactos de las opciones con respecto a la definición de puntos de referencia cronológicos para el trabajo de investigación; cuestiones que involucran las nociones de continuidad y cambio; y la centralidad de estos temas en los estudios sobre transiciones políticas. Se argumenta que la forma en que se interpreta el pasado depende de cómo estos temas sean o no incorporados y problematizados por los investigadores. Al final, se concluye que un análisis transversal entre regímenes políticos permite desdibujar rupturas ficticias e identificar continuidades ocultas, transformando nuestra comprensión del pasado y su impacto en el presente.
