From the ethics of care to intersectionality: paths and challenges to understanding care work

The ethics of care emerged, in the 1980s, as a feminist reference for the understanding of care in our societies. Throughout this text I analyze how the ethics of care provides a not very appropriate theoretical framework for the analysis of care work, and I try to offer some clues for a more suitable understanding of the theme. To that end, I place care work at the center of discussions on social inequalities and power relations and resort to empirical research based upon an intersectional approach about the subject.References
