John Dewey is a leading theoretical reference when we talk about democracy and education. Being able to glimpse the scope that his ideas have today is a viable task and, perhaps, a necessary purpose in the face of the social value crisis generated by current neoliberal forces. To recover the sense of an ideal that does not seek a dogmatic imposition, but is thought as an end oriented by a critical and normative model, which allows us to assess the deficiencies and problems of the real democracies; and, at the same time, to guide and to direct the necessary actions for the reconstruction of each instance of democratic life, is an important incentive if we commit to what Dewey called the responsibility of accomplishing democracy again. In this context, why do we talk about the call for a democratic to education? In this sense, we will move forward in this article which was built from a bibliographic investigation.Downloads
