Violence as a social deviation: general bases of the Durkheimian positivist interpretation of violence

This article organises general aspects of Durkheimian positivism in a course of presentation that aims to facilitate the manner as such a theory comprehends the phenomenon of the violence in the modem societies. This article starts exploring the historical context that surrounds the Durkheim's intellectual work, revealing the immediate influence of this context under his work. Next, it shows up the attention that the author gives to the 'question' of the 'social order', and, last it comments Durkheim's conception of history, in which 'the laws' discharge an essential role. This article was written as a material of subside to the teachers of the State Net of Teaching that administer the discipline of Sociology in the high school, ministered by Laboratory of Teaching of Sociology of Universidade Estadual de Londrina.Downloads
