Blog and interactive e-book in favor of oral cultures: a project in development

Abstract

This is a brief presentation of a research work currently under development at Laboratório de Estudos da Oralidade - UFPB (Oral Studies Lab of Paraíba Federal University, in Brazil), which is in part financially sponsored by CNPq, aiming the creation of both a blog and an interactive e-book, containing information on collections and document series of Acervo Etnográfico do Patrimônio Imaterial Brasileiro (Etnographic Archive of Brazilian Intangible Heritage). Such archive, gathered along forty years of field research by Marcos Ayala and Maria Ignez N. Ayala, is born from the experience of both scholars in direct observation and registration of different manifestations of ways of expression in Sao Paulo and Northeast region of Brazil as well as from collective projects, with interdisciplinary teamwork. The documental profusion resulting from four decades of work has been organized by them in order to divulge the archive and its public accessibility, as long as sound registry, audiovisual, photographic and writing material (such as notes and drawings in research notebooks) are being digitalized and different pieces of information are obtained in diverse kinds of support
