This article analyzes the constitution of the Cultural Industry as an object of sociological investigation, systematically relating the cultural dynamics of class society to the emergence of ideologies and the formation of public opinion in the era of mass society. He concludes by exposing two of the main classical interpretations of the cultural industry, and relating them to the theoretical status of sociology.Downloads
