Abstract

In a context of intensified commercial and cultural relations between countries at the international level and an increase in the formation of blocs determined by a diverse range of affinities and common interests, the links between Portuguese-speaking countries have aroused a growing interest on the part of academic researches in the scope of Human and Social Sciences (Anthropology, History, Sociology, Political Science and International Relations). The articles selected in the dossier "Contemporary perspectives on the Portuguese-speaking world" are original theoretical contributions and / or analyzes of empirical data on the following thematic axes: secularity / secularization and religious territories in Portugal; tradition and modernity in Mozambique; culture, internationalization and Capoeira; Education in Cape Verde and global educational policies; social movement and student resistance in Brazil and Portugal; and finally, the Brazilian formation and reinterpretations from the Baroque.
