This article tries to examine the sixteen years of existence of the Argentinean democratic regimen, inaugurated at the end of 1983. Where is the Argentinean democracy located? What major changes have occurred? Considering this referential universe, the problematization of the relationship among Sale, market, and civil society is dealt with. Within one decade the transition from authoritarianism to democracy and the transition of a directed economy to a market economy occurred. At the end of such double transitional process, democracy and market economy, in a new combination, shall live together, in search of formula of action which favor the continuity of a legitimate power, social equality, and a sustained growth. In that sense, even though in the world there is the imposition of market economy, the issue is to discuss a re-balancing between State and market. With no suspicion against the State whatsoever, our theme shall be: more of civil society instead of more of State or more of market. In these claims are the difficult yet not impossible advancements of democracy. The perfecting of the democratic system will largely depend upon its capacity to learn with the past and to make decisions orientated towards the future.Downloads
