Abstract
The contribution made by jurists to the formation of sociological thinking in Brazil is undeniable, especially with regard to questions of State, but for several decades the two disciplines drifted apart, causing a loss of interest in the social sciences in matters pertaining to Law and to the country's legal structure. However, the recent return to democracy brought a healthy rapprochement between the two areas of research, from various angles, the relations that are established between the legally constituted state and the democracy that has been developing in Brazil. In this edition, Revista Mediações focuses on this issue.Downloads
