This article offers a comparison between oral folktales narrated by children and scriptural and filmic versions of two narrative matrices: Red Riding Hood and Snow White. Such comparison shows the intertextual gap between orality and literacy, and reflects as well differential styles of storytelling, dealing with different cultural contexts. Comparative analysis also reveals the intertextual gap between orality and the media, mixed up in the children’s voices which recontextualise folk matrices with their own styles. The aim is to point out such recontextualization of folk narrative patterns in the voices of the children, who give new meanings to old stories.Downloads
