The article presents an analysis of the novel O Ano da Morte de Ricardo Reis, by José Saramago, highlighting the temporality experienced by the character Ricardo Reis, as a time of escape, as well as the figure of the labyrinth, composing in the narrative the space of the game, with a plurality of meanings. Based on theoretical contributions derived from the philosophy of history, in particular, we will try to understand the "escape strategies" of the central character, such as adherence to the time of "forgetfulness", which is also present in different lines of historiography, in different times.Downloads
