Ethical Publication Guidelines

Ethical Publication Guidelines

The journal Terra Roxa e Outros Terras: Revista de Estudos Literários is committed to keeping in line with the guidelines stipulated by the CNPq Scientific Integrity Commission (http://www.cnpq.br/web/guest/diretrizes) and the publication ethics recommendations for authors, editors and reviewers of the Committee on Publication Ethics – COPE (http://publicationethics.org/).

  1. When submitting articles to the journal, authors automatically declare that the contents of the articles are original (texts already published in theses or dissertations available online will not be accepted). They also declare that the article was not published, complete or incomplete, in Portuguese or in another language, nor was it submitted to another journal simultaneously. In addition, they undertake to inform the journal when they detect an error or inaccuracy in their work (under review, editing or already published) and to collaborate with the editors so that the article can be retracted or corrected.
  2. The editors and reviewers undertake to evaluate the works submitted to the journal objectively and for their intellectual content, without discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, geographic origin or political thought. They also undertake to treat the authors' contributions confidentially while they are under evaluation and in case the work is rejected. The works will be subject to evaluation or discussion with third parties only with the authorization of the journal's editors.
  3. When the evaluators identify that the submitted work presents relevant content previously published - by the author or by third parties, whether they are statements, arguments or reproduction of excerpts -, they must inform the editors directly and the authors must ensure that such contents are always accompanied by the respective bibliographic reference, indicating their origin. Likewise, when there is substantial similarity or evidence that the article being evaluated has already been published in another medium, the evaluators must alert the editors that the article violates the ethical principles of the journal.
  4. Any deviations and other cases not foreseen in this declaration must be informed to the editor of the magazine, which will take the necessary measures to solve the problem presented.

The journal explicitly stipulates its norms and perceptions of plagiarism and malpractice.
