Resumo

O artigo analisa o crescimento recente do anti-intelectualismo, associado à nova extrema-direita (alt-right), a partir da categoria de “capital cultural”. Alimentado pelos novos circuitos de disseminação dos discursos, ele promove a desconfiança em relação às vozes autorizadas da ciência, da escola e do jornalismo, em favor dos saberes espontâneos do “homem comum”. O resultado é uma situação que priva de recursos os detentores de capital cultural – os setores dominados da classe dominante, na definição de Bourdieu – em favor dos detentores de capital econômico.

Luis Felipe Miguel, Universidade de Brasília (UnB)

Doutor em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1997). Docente junto ao Departamento e ao Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciência Política da Universidade de Brasília. Pesquisa financiada pelo CNPq (Processo n° 303411/2021-0).
