Abstract

The present dossier aims to gather a set of articles that deal with ways of building religious subjects from devotional practices, disciplinary techniques, religious knowledge, and ethical-moral formation. Starting from the discussions around the subject produced in the field of Social Sciences, we aim to establish a space for dialogue and reflection around phenomena such as: collective ritual actions, public controversies, modes of disciplinary engagement, political mobilizations, etc., whose analysis provides a basis for a broader problematization of the role played by religiosity in the production of consciousness and, therefore, in the construction of subjects in contemporary societies.

Doctor in Anthropology from the Federal University of Fluminense (2019). Permanent Professor of the Graduate Program in Anthropology at the Federal University of Piauí.

Emanuel Freitas da Silva, State University of Ceará

Doctor in Sociology from the Federal University of Ceará (2018). Professor in the Graduate Programs in Sociology and in Planning and Public Policies at the State University of Ceará.
