Abstract

Brazil is the first country in the world in cases of transfemicide. Among people in the LGBTQIA+ community, the group that suffers the most human rights violations are trans women (transvestites and transsexuals). This article aims to analyze two cases of transfemicide that occurred in Campinas in 2019. Narratives were built from information collected through verbal and clinical autopsies and information reported in the media and analyzed through the ecological model of the violence. The cases of transfemicide occurred in young women who worked as bartenders and sex workers. The experiences and life stories of a trans woman are different from those of a cis woman and must be understood and studied from their particularities. The women victims had low economic conditions, were murdered in sexual contexts and through manifestations of high violence and hatred marked on their bodies. The cases of transfemicide in this research reflect the national reality of trans women in the country.
