Abstract
Over the past decade, the Latin American subcontinent has become the scene of several social upheavals, as well as countless attempts at coups, self-hits or semi-coups. For a region that, in the same period, became democratic, it adopted universal suffrage as a way of choosing its leaders, causing strangeness and concern due to the difficult coexistence between neoliberalism and democratic regimes. The political picture is quite complex, which increasingly demands that we turn our political and theoretical attention to Latin America. To deepen the debate and reflect on this situation, Mediações presents in this issue the dossier "Social Struggles, Democracy and Governance in Latin America".Downloads
