The importance of conducting research on indigenous societies is undeniable. In academic terms, the knowledge of the "Other" enables, as we well know, the understanding of otherness, at the same time that it leads us to think about ourselves and our identity issues. In addition, knowledge of the forms of social organization of other societies, governed by dissonant logics in relation to the Euro-American cultural pattern (of which, to a certain extent, we are part), broadens our horizons and our analysis of social structures, historical aspects, models economic and political.
