The fundamental proposal of the organizers of this dossier was to consider how Social Sciences are preparing for the conceptual and methodological challenges of the Zettabyte era (a unit of information or memory), noting that both access and analytical treatment of the data renewed and expanded methods in the social sciences. To this end, the organizers selected articles that addressed these issues from the performance of quantitative analyzes, but also from the application of information for the formulation of various indicators of social life.
