A atuação da ONU no enfrentamento do corte genital feminino em Serra Leoa: uma análise pós-colonial

Este artigo analisa a atuação da ONU diante do corte genital feminino em Serra Leoa, a partir de uma abordagem pós-colonial. Busca-se compreender como a ONU enfrenta práticas legitimadas como tradição local, mas classificadas como violações dos direitos humanos de mulheres e meninas. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, baseada na análise documental de relatórios da missão de paz UNIPSIL (2009-2014) e na bibliografia especializada sobre o tema. Conclui-se que, embora a ONU tenda a encarar a prática do CGF como uma violação dos direitos humanos de meninas e mulheres, adotando medidas normativas e educativas para combatê-lo, sua abordagem tende a desconsiderar fatores estruturais, como desigualdade econômica e dependência pós-colonial. Desta forma, a organização reforça hierarquias entre o local e o internacional, limitando a efetividade de sua atuação.
