Abstract

This study presents an experience developed in the context of basic education with the reading of poems of a Brazilian literary generation known as marginal poetry, based on the adoption of the anthology Destino: poesia (Moriconi, 2010,  2016) as a curricular reading for 8th-grade students at a federal school. Committed to the literary mediation of poetry in a formal teaching context and supported by the theoretical and methodological assumptions of Colomer (2007) and Pinheiro (2018), this didactic experience involved two undergraduate students, whose lesson plans centered on the aforementioned anthology to introduce, in both theme and form, the characteristics of the Brazilian poetic production from the 1970s–1980s ( Hollanda, 2004, 2021). Having explained the foundations of the work, a literary analysis of the poetic anthology is presented, focusing on its potential for the formation of young literary readers. Next, taking the format of an experience report, this paper presents the stages of preparation, implementation, and outcomes of the classes taught by the pre-service teachers under the supervision of the class teacher.
