Author Biographies

Felipe Carvalho, Universidade Estácio de Sá / Universidade Federal do Tocantins

He is a professor in the Postgraduate Program in Education at Estácio de Sá University (PPGE/UNESA), research line Information and Communication Technologies in Educational Processes (TICPE). Coordinator of the Education and Cyberculture Research Group (GPEC/CNPq). He holds a PhD and a master's degree from the Postgraduate Program in Education (ProPEd/UERJ). From 2019 to 2020, he was a FAPERJ sandwich doctoral fellow at the Complutense University of Madrid/Spain (UCM), and a FAPERJ Note 10 doctoral fellow. He is currently a CNPq post-doctoral fellow at the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT). Education columnist for the Brazilian Computer Society's Horizontes magazine. Managing editor of the journal Docência e Cibercultura. He is an Ad Hoc member of the National Association for Graduate Studies and Research in Education (ANPEd) and coordinator of WG 16 ANPEd Southeast. His research focuses on online education, training, information technology in education, didactics, difference and cyberculture.

Marluce Zacariotti, Universidade Federal do Tocantins

He has a degree in Social Communication from the Federal University of Goiás (1990), a master's degree in Communication Sciences from the University of São Paulo (2004) and a doctorate in Education from the Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás (2015). She is currently doing a post-doctorate in Communication Sciences at the Fernando Pessoa University (Porto/Portugal- 2022-2023). She is currently an adjunct professor at the Federal University of Tocantins, coordinator of the Communication, Society and Environment research group, coordinator of Pegadas - Journalistic Content Agency (UFT); permanent professor and vice coordinator of the Professional Master's Degree in Education at the Federal University of Tocantins; coordinator of the Center for Research, Extension and Journalistic Practices (Nujor). She is President of the Brazilian Association of Journalism Teaching (ABEJ- Management 2022/2024) and vice coordinator of the Journalist Work and Identity Network (Retij/SBPjor- Management 2021-2023). She has experience in the field of Communication, with an emphasis on Journalism, working mainly on the following topics: Journalism; communication and work; communication and press consultancy; communication and education; media education.

Wallace Ugulino, University of Twente

I am currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of Twente (UTwente, Netherlands) as part of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS). Previously, I worked for the "Apple Developer Academy," both in Brazil, as an Assistant Professor of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), and Italy as a Lecturer (collaborator) of the Università Degli Studi di Napoli - Federico II (Naples, Italy). I also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher Fellow at UFRJ, with research in wearable computing. 

I earned the title of Doctor of Sciences [D.Sc.] (PUC-Rio, 2014) with a thesis dissertation entitled "Wearables for Supporting Spatial Representation by Blind Persons." I was awarded as an "Apple Distinguished Educator" (ADE Institute class of 2015) by the work as a computer programming teacher (iOS development) for the Apple Developer Academy in Brazil. I earned the title of Master of Sciences [M.Sc.] from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO, 2010), with a dissertation concerning computer support for improving educational group activities. 

I currently teach courses mostly related to computer programming. Regarding research, my main interests are on Educational-related research on Computer Science, CSCW/CSCL, Wearable Assistive technology, and Software Development for Mobile Platforms.
