Abstract

Driven by cultural movements originating from the peripheries of large cities, studies on rap have become increasingly common, gaining space both in the academic environment and in the Brazilian publishing market. This is what most proves this release on the subject: the book Se binds in the sound: the transformations of rap in Brazil (São Paulo, Claro Enigma, 2015), by musician and researcher Ricardo Teperman, who presents a succinct but well-founded study on the topic.
