Descriptive sociolinguistic method: oral language and regionalism in Dourados (MS) region

Comprehending that the oral language is the element by which we can apprehend the cultural values of a community, this study has highlighted the existence of regionalisms in the spoken language, and this was verified by recording the oral speech of some Portuguese speakers from Dourados (MS). Thus, the research was based in theoretical and methodological resources from the Labovian sociolinguistics, which analyze the language variations, derived from linguistic and/or social variations (LABOV, 2008/1983 and TARALLO, 2007). And by means of the sociolinguistic scenery, the research has made a survey of the vocables present in the oral language of the subjects interviewed. So, this study values the non-pattern language and considers the variation process and the linguistic change through the oral language, interconnecting social, historical and geographical matters.References
