Abstract

This article refers to a possible critic of the Brazilian military and dictatorial regime in the 1960´s and 1970s, trough the eyes of João Paz, a character in the novel of Erico Veríssimo, Incidente em Antares. The research, from a bibliographic point of view, has been based on recent theories that relate to facts in the History and Literature of our country. The research is based on those two contexts, analyzing the construction of the character and relating the fiction with the happenings that were experienced by the Brazilian society in those days.
