This article reflects about the text “Gastão Manuel Henrique”, by Clarice Lispector, published on the first edition of the book A legião estrangeira (1964). The text is about Gastão Manuel Henrique’s painting on wood. He was an artist from the 1960s generation in Brazil when it was discussed the presence of an abstract and concrete modern art between us. The goal is to establish a relationship between the discussions in vogue at that time and the way the writer sees his artwork.Downloads
