Rubem Fonseca: the representation of violence and the relations of power as an aggrression to the reader in the short story “O Cobrador”

On a concise, agressive and disturbing speech, Rubem Fonseca’s literature tries to reveal, on small details, the violence, the economy’s differences, the erotism and the relations of power that have arisen in the metropolis. By using this perspective, this article intends to analyze the short story “O Cobrador”, in which the marginalized element’s voice will expose, by violence, the failures of modern society. The story will also lead the reader to an inconvenient reflection about his principles, values and laws, sometimes by empathy, sometimes by empathy aversion to the trespasser and his speech.References
