Abstract

The objective is to analyze the short story "Sorôco, his mother, his daughter", by João Guimarães Rosa. The elements of the narrative structure will be the starting point for reaching the Dionysian chant present at the end of the narrative. The possible links as to the treatment given to the tragic both in the work of Guimarães Rosa and in that of Friedrich Nietzsche will be highlighted.
