Análise comparativa de venografia epidural lombo-sacra por via intra-óssea e mielografia em cães

O objetivo deste trabalho foi comparar, experimentalmente em 10 cães, com compressão da medula vertebral, através do emprego de cateter de embolectomia introduzido pelo espaço da articulação lombo-sacral até a segunda ou terceira vértebra lombar, as técnicas de venografia epidural lombo-sacra por via intra-óssea e a mielografia com punção lombar. As técnicas foram realizadas antes e após inflar-se o balonete do cateter de compressão, com revezamento na execução das técnicas em primeiro e segundo lugar. As análises radiográficas demonstraram ser a venografia superior a mielografia, principalmente nas últimas vértebras lombares, ou quando ocorreu tumor vertebral na quarta vértebra lombar. O modelo experimental de lesões compressivas medulo-radiculares com emprego de cateter de embolectomia introduzido no canal epidural demonstrou ser eficiente.
