Abstract

Crowdfunding is a community way to directly capitalize on business or personal projects. This paper aims to indicate characteristics and reasons of success and failure of modern games collective financing campaigns. Through the selection, collection and analysis of the games project campaigns on the Kickstarter platform, it was possible to draw a panorama of study and evaluate characteristics of successful and unsuccessful campaigns. Also, we indicate the fundamentals responsible for the campaign's success or failure. At the end, it was possible to discuss how to use the rewards factor and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the crowdfunding system in the modern gaming industry. A properly managed campaign raises the odds of achieving goals and is able to reach supporters for future projects.
