In this article, we intend to analyze how material culture has been approached in Anthropology in some moments in its history. We discuss contemporary proposals, most of which came up from studies about consumption. Finally, we suggest their potential contributions and discuss how the transformation in the anthropological approach of material culture brings innovation and incites us to rethink our practices.Downloads
