Abstract

This photo essay addresses my trajectory in the photojournalism, with particular emphasis on the harsh episodes of police violence in June 2013, which have since then made up the urban landscape of street demonstrations in the country. The demonstration of June 13, 2013, harshly repressed by the São Paulo military police, can be understood as a turning point not only in my life, but as an example of the authoritarian escalation that was already beginning to give clear signs towards the consolidation of the police state. Since then, I have dedicated myself to recording and combating in different ways all forms of police violence and, in a very special way, through images, as can be seen from this photographic essay.
