Social movements dynamics: reflections about culture and political opportunities

We propose, in this paper, reflect about contemporary movements social dynamics from analysis and discussions about two approaches: cultural and political process. Beyond the dichotomies between them, we seek to bring to the debate the possibilities of explaining the strategies used by social movements in the last years in Brazil. We highlight that reaffirming the identities made it possible inlcude demands on the public agenda as well as the state´s most permeable political context created political opportunities that were incorporated by the social movements.Metrics
