Call of Papers - Dossier: Mood and atmosphere studies in Brazil. (Mediações, vol. 31, n.1 – 2026/1)

Organizers: Paulo Gajanigo (UFF) and Manuela de Mattos Salazar (University of Sussex).

In an unprecedented manner in Brazil, this special issue proposes gathering studies and research projects keyworded with concepts such as atmosphere, mood, Stimmung, ambience, Structure of feelings and others. Considering that today there is a field of studies that uses these concepts in relation to and with a shared characteristic: the critique of separation between subject and object and the appreciation of the focus on feelings and materialities, a special issue that compiles these studies in Brazil will be a significant step in propagating these debates and promoting dialogues between study areas and topics.

The call for articles for the dossier will be open until October 15, 2025 and original texts in Portuguese, Spanish and English will be accepted. Contributions must be submitted via the journal's online system:
