Abstract

This review focuses on the work "I, Mediator: Mediation and Reader Formation," by Chilean author Felipe Munita, originally published in 2021 by Ediciones Octaedro and released in Brazil in October 2024 by Solisluna/Instituto Emília. In the book, Munita discusses and sheds light on the concepts of reading and mediation and the role of the actors involved in the process of reader formation. The work is highly recommended for those who work with books and with children and young people, including teachers, librarians, and administrators working in basic education. It is also recommended for researchers and higher education faculty working in reading and literary education.

Graduated in Pedagogy from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas, Master in Education from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul and PhD candidate in Languages ​​and Education at the University of São Paulo.

Gabriela Rodella de Oliveira , Universidade de São Paulo

Bachelor in Literature, licensed in Portuguese Language, Master and PhD in the filed of Languages ​​and Education from the University of São Paulo. Professor at the Federal University of Southern Bahia (UFSB) in Porto Seguro, Bahia, and professor in the Graduate Program in Education at the USP School of Education.
