Memory, poetry and prophecy: the identity of the Santaneja in a winter version

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the identity presented in Marcos Antunes’s poetry, the coletive and cultural identity written by him in his poetry. Based mainly in Paul Zumthor’s interpretation about oral poetry and performance, we are going to try to comprehend how the poetry build a link of cohesion and identity with the poet’s social group, mainly about how the winter gives the poet a poetical inspiration to write about the backcountry culture. Paul Zumthor’s point of view helped us to understand this performance as a constitutive poetry of an enunciation’s reception that reach the public with its themes and links the poet identity with his community, mainly with his winter’s themes, so important to the backcountry people memories.
