Right steps left, forward and back: visibility of the Macuxi woman

Abstract

: In this research we tried to understand the lifespan of three Macuxi women from their leadership positions in the period of 1986-2002, identifying the conditions which caused the rising of women leadership in indigenous. Communities, through the analysis of their discourses, aiming at identifying the relevant aspects of their fightings and checking in which way the work of women leadership resulted in a new political identity construction. We explained about Macuxi women leadership, and the history of women movement and Roraima Indigenous Women Organization-OMIR. The methodology circumscribed by oral history allowed to develop research with a set of articulated procedures each other, whose purpose is to obtain reliable results allowing to produce knowledge involving a series of interviews, subjected to a significant sample, selected, through which the support that universe would be present. At the research we realize that the three Macuxi women developed a marked paper of leadership front to the relations of gender and, along of hers trajectories have demarcated the referential ofo fight and conquest in your ethnicity.
