Myth and discourse: a metonymic process

The objective of our article is to study the discursiveness in myths of Bakairi language (Karib family) to show that, at the base of abstract synecdoches (Lévi Strauss's proposal), the metonymy processes take place. Besides, on the bias of French school of Analyze of Discourse, we point out that the process of abstraction verified in the most of the myths make concrete metaphorically the history of the confrontation of two worlds, when the myths bring theirselves update sharing an act of denunciation and resistance. A confrontation established by the conflict between the oral world and the written world.
