This study has aimed to investigate the relationships between the migrant subject and the spaces they cross, as well as the subject’s posture in the face of the unknown. For that, we used as a corpus of analysis the chapters entitled: “Essa terra me chama”, and “Essa terra me enxota”, from the novel Essa Terra (1976), by Antônio Torres. The purpose is to reflect on a historical time when the lack of perspective and the threat to survival in rural areas increased migration to cities. As historicalcritical support, we based on the contributions and reflections of Borges Filho (2005), Bezerra Júnior (2014), García Canclini (2008), Bhabha (1998), among others.References
