Call for Papers - Dossier: Neoliberal rationality and contemporary subjectivation processes (Mediações, vol. 25, n. 2 – 2020/2)

2020-04-09

Since the 1980s, neoliberalism has slowly been constituted as a rationality that tends to organize the way of life of individuals in society. In social and individual terms, different concepts have already been elaborated in order to analyze the transformations that have occurred since then. “Post-industrial society”, “liquid modernity”, “cognitive capitalism”, “immaterial economics”, “performance societies”, “post-disciplinary society”, “biopolitcs” and “control societies” refer, for example, to the social plan, just as designations of man as "hypermodern", "inaccurate", "flexible", "precarious" and "fluid" indicate transformations on the individual plane. Considering that neoliberalism is not just an ideology or an economic and political doctrine, but a rationality that establishes a social norm on a planetary scale, the purpose of the dossier is to receive unpublished, theoretical and empirical contributions that examine the relations between neoliberalism and subjectivity in societies to understand the different current processes of subjectivation.

Call for papers will be open until April 15, 2020.
