Abstract

This article aims to analyze the speeches on the subject homosexual in our society, the objective here is to verify the production of meaning in an outdoor text against homosexuality and (de)construction of gay identity from the questions, the discussions and prejudice directed at this group. The research will be done on the text displayed in ten billboards were scattered in various streets of the city of Campina Grande (Paraiba), HOMOSEXUALITY entitled, in the period between 18 and 22 June 2007, with a campaign sponsored by VINACC (National Vision for Christian Awareness) and Project Jonah, an organization supported by evangelical churches in Paraíba. The theoretical framework guiding the analysis of the corpus is the Discourse Analysis of French oriented and his notion of reading as interpretation from the genres, trying to observe the readings and made sense of the text in its opacity, which are anchored by memory networks. Thus, this paper notes that homosexual identities are (un) built within specific discursive formations in the midst of social and cultural relations and this (de)construction tends to produce asubject equal in society and exclude those who flee to this reality, the "different". This confirms the social control through regulatory procedures, which selects and organizes events and through the words of power relations.
