Abstract

The aim of this article is to identify the locus given to the thought in Chomsky´s theory. For doing so, the following notions are analysed: the language, the innatism, the meaning, the relation between mind and body and also Newton´s ideas that are considered by Chomsky. It is believed that although Chomsky bases his perspective of mind on a materialistic view, there is (still) not a biological theory of body (brain) to which Chomsky´s cognitive theory of mind is associated. It is concluded that Chomsky´s mentalist theory does not have a material correlate (biological theory) on which to base; because of it, the locus of thought is, in part, a mistery.
