On the place of thought in Chomskian theory: a mystery?

The aim of this article is to identify the locus given to the thought in Chomsky's theory. For doing so, the following notions are analysed: the language, the innatism, the meaning, the relation between mind and body and also Newton's ideas that are considered by Chomsky. It is believed that although Chomsky bases his perspective of mind on a materialistic view, there is (still) not a biological theory of body (brain) to which Chomsky's cognitive theory of mind is associated. It is concluded that Chomsky's mentalist theory does not have a material correlate (biological theory) on which to base; because of it, the locus of thought is, in part, a mistery.Downloads
