Abstract

Through this authorial graphic essay, we intend to perform a graphic
interpretation based on illustrations that refers to the illumination, a harbinger of modern illustration, since it is a decorative art applied to the capitular letters of texts present in the medieval period. The graphic essay is positioned as a means of research and reflection on the
graphic memory present in the arts, letters and literature, as an alternative to the academic article. The course of the graphic essay consists of the presentation of a sequence of illustrations that mix the verbal text, in this case, letters and the non-verbal text, which consists of images based on sculptures and paintings from the time.
