Abstract

To what extent is there a presence of medieval poetry in contemporary orality? This question can be answered from different approaches and theoretical perspectives. Number 19 of Revista Boitatá is an intellectual exercise sensitive to the medieval presence in contemporary times. Agamben, in his well-known essay What is contemporary ?, states that: "contemporary is one who keeps his gaze fixed on his time, in order to perceive in him not the lights, but the dark". Its affirmation implies neutralizing the lights of the present, to capture its essence in the darkness. In this way, the contemporary requires a special look, capable of capturing the inside out of meaning. It is not a question of language in its ephemeral enchantment, but of the device that articulates it.
