Inspired by the work of architect Adolf Loos (1870-1933), German philosopher and essayist Walter Benjamin (1892-1940) published in 1931 “The Destructive Character,” a short text in which he seeks to delineate the human yearning for destruction. Using a generic but not superficial approach, Benjamin understands destruction as a central element of modernity.
