The Immeasurable slit: literature, film

Literature and Film, Adaptation, Materiality, Memory and imageAbstract
Instead of looking for some convergence approaching literature and film, this essay searches for the understanding of what seclude these media. When observed in their materiality, and recognizing their distinct temporality and spatiality, both literature and film can withdraw to a point where no communication is possible, therefore no community can be constituted. This is the point where a slit, an immeasurable slit, separates image and memory, language and narrative.Downloads
